WEDDING PARTY
Saturday 14th August 2027
The Ashes Barns, Staffordshire
The Bride
Meet Emily, a dedicated pediatric nurse who balances her high-energy career with a deep love for history. Growing up in a family of antique collectors, she spent her childhood exploring flea markets, which sparked a lifelong fascination with the Victorian era. In a beautiful nod to this past, she will be walking down the aisle wearing her great-grandmother’s restored lace veil from 1922. While her days are spent caring for newborns at the hospital, Sarah harbors a surprising, high-octane passion outside of work: she is a licensed amateur rally car driver and spent her last weekend before the wedding tuning her Subaru's suspension.
The Groom
Beside her stands James, a structural engineer who specialises in restoring historic bridges, a career inspired by a childhood spent building intricate Lego megastructures. Raised in a coastal town, James spent his youth volunteering with maritime rescue teams, which instilled in him a calm under pressure that serves him well both on unstable construction sites and during wedding planning. While he spends his work weeks analysing blueprints and concrete stress levels, James possesses a hidden creative side: he is a talented, self-taught ice sculptor. In fact, as a surprise for Emily, he secretly spent the eve of their wedding in a walk-in freezer carving a detailed, three-foot-tall replica of her rally car to serve as the reception's seafood tower centerpiece.
The Brides Parents
Emily's parents, Elena and Arthur, are high school sweethearts who have run a boutique plant nursery together for over thirty years. Arthur, a former landscape architect, and Elena, a master gardener, spent decades transforming their rural property into a sprawling botanical haven where Sarah and her siblings grew up climbing ancient willow trees.
The Maid of Honor
Standing by Emily's side is her Maid of Honor and lifelong best friend, Maya, a forensic meteorologist who reconstructs weather data for legal cases and insurance investigations. The duo first met in a college physics lab when they accidentally caused a minor, foam-filled chemical reaction, cementing a friendship that has lasted over a decade.
The Best Man
James ' Best Man is his older brother, Marcus, an urban planner who designs sustainable green spaces for major metropolitan areas. Growing up just two years apart, Marcus was the mastermind behind their childhood backyard Lego cities, often acting as the "project manager" to James’ "lead engineer." Beyond his dedication to eco-friendly city design, Marcus is a world-class competitive pinball player, currently ranked in the top 100 nationally.
The Bridesmaids
The bridesmaids are a tight-knit trio of Sarah’s closest friends: Chloe, a marine biologist; Jasmine, an interior designer; and Lily, a professional pastry chef.
The Groomsmen
Completing the wedding party are the groomsmen, a trio of David’s closest friends: Sam, a wildlife photographer; Leo, a high school history teacher; and Omar, an aerospace machinist. This adventurous group has stayed close since their college days through a shared, eccentric tradition: they are avid unicycle hockey players who compete in a local underground league.
